Aliya, I’m fluent in german, so I’d be pleased to translate it for you…

  2. She’s playing the rebel like Kate Moss. But she couldn’t do that for a French magazine since advertising smoking is forbidden in France…

  3. Yes, she looks really amazing! I’ve read this interview yesterday and I think I got to like her even more! :) You know, Isabel Marant is like her clothes- normal, casual, easy, comfortable- and so is the interview :) She tells about her clothes, what kind of women wears them and why all women around the globe love and wear her clothes regardless the age. She tells how she does not want to work under any big designer name cause she likes to be independend and always make her decisions herself (+ that she does need any businessman telling her how to run her company cause she studied business herself- didn’t know that). She recons her childhood, how her mother was a model (again, something I didn’t know) and how she did not get the fashion world at that time! Then, there’s some politics talk, what she thinks about the new president and first lady, economy. She tells what she likes and doesn’t like about french people (and admits she prefers to work with German and Holland folk than with French, which according to Marant simply complain to much about everything :)) and where her clothes are being produced and why’s that (main reason- good fabrics, e.g. t-shirt are made in Turkey cause they have best cotton and denim in Marocco cause they’re best in stonewashing). She says she does not produce anything in China cause she really does not want to support this kind of slavery. Also lovin’ her reply to the question what she thinks about all the celebrities coming to the shows: “Telling the truth I don’t give a damn about it! Celibrities are being paid by the labels to attend the show and I would never in my life pay someone to come and see my show!” Like I said-I’m lovin’ her! :)

    • Well, she should check what she says about China. I bought my Bostons sneakers from Net à Porter and the shoe box says “Made in China” and the shoes had a bad glue smell at the beginning…

      • Oh sorry, she said she “tries to avoide producing in China” :)

I love me some IM (she pretty much rules my closet!) but smoking? Eh..not cool in my book! I do love the steely-eyed stare tho!

I totally agree. I wear her stuff almost every day but a big thumbs down on smoking. Not only does it age the skin, it is so bad for your insides. Think of your families people!

hands down she is a true bad ass with amazing style, taste and confidence!

  6. She has certainly paid her dues in the fashion industry. Her collection has grown from strength to strength. I can’t help but noticed how much she has aged, presumably from stress. It can’t be easy having to produce one collection as in the fashion world, you’re only as good as your current collection.

  7. She seems to have such a great sense of self, and I always eagerly await to see what she’s going to come up with next. I’m totally going to have my fiance read this article to me. :) From the oversized popped collar to her penetrating gaze, this pic speaks volumes.
