Behind the Scenes

“Even when she is showing fall, there’s an essential sunniness—and sensuality—to what Isabel Marant creates that doesn’t need any great exposition to understand. She has a knack for forging a primal connection between what she designs and how young, cool women want to dress and look, which is to say, at the moment, as undone and as natural as possible…” – Vogue

  1. Profound quote. Great coverage of the show w/ all your recent posts! What were your overall thoughts on the collection Aliya? :)

    • I was really drawn to the more Victorian influences in the dresses, lace tops, and skirts more so than the Western feel because I’ve never been inspired by a Western, Americana aesthetic. I thought her boots were one of the strongest designs to date. What about you?

  2. Yeah, I also did not really gravitate towards the “wild west” looks – they appeared somewhat costumey in my opinion. I particularly loved the leather pieces and the embellished knits and dresses. I agree with you on the boots – saw some close up shots and they are beyond hot. :)

I love that Isabel always looks so relaxed and beautifully natural in photos. I love her clothes more because she seems so genuine and open!

I loved the Victorian influenced looks too, but I must confess I’m already craving one of those western looking shirts…

  5. Hi Aliya,

I agree with you on the boots. The shoes are always a weakness of mine. I’m being strong and limiting myself to just one pair though. At least at this stage :)
