Looking back at Isabel’s past shows, I found some favorites from her Fall 2007 collection. The
color palette is exactly how I envision fall weather, and her pieces, of course, are as luxurious as
they are casual. I think my 2007 self would’ve worn the wool jacket, top, and skirt combo ALL
the time.

When I saw the Rio sandals on the runway, my first thought was “perfect and PAINFUL.” My pain threshold for strappy heels is pretty low, but my desire to wear them is exceptionally high. So here
is the truce, the Reawhich offers a shorter heel than the Rio. No more wincing at the thought of wearing them, just intense admiration for those ankle straps!

– Isabel Marant

“I try to do something special. Being independent, not to be part of a huge group, it helps to
have no accountability. To anyone…In a world super standardized, globalized, the fact of being
independent allows you to make real choices of strategies. What interests me in the clothes is
that one feels that there is someone behind. For this, we must maintain control.” – Isabel Marant
